Tenders are invited for Veterinary Medicinal Product Control Center (VETKOM)- Senior Environmental Specialist Closing Date: 25 Mar 2025 Type: Consultancy STOOS Consulting is looking for experts in the field of Veterinary Medicinal Product Control Center (VETKOM) in Turkey. This project, in line with the World Banks Environmental and Social Framework (ESF) and international best practices, will involve conducting a comprehensive Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), developing a Stakeholder Engagement Plan, and preparing Sub-Management Plans for Contractors. The ESIA will evaluate environmental and social risks during the design, construction, and operational phases, incorporating air quality and noise measurements, as well as stakeholder consultations. Given the scale and importance of this initiative, STOOS Consulting is seeking qualified experts with experience in environmental and social assessments for World Bank-funded projects. Senior Environmental Specialist Responsibilities S/He will be responsible for the relevant parts of the reporting within the scope of the work by identifying all environmental impacts and risks of the project at local, regional and national levels and making recommendations for their elimination and/or reduction. During the project design process, it will advise on the determination of the characteristics of the ventilation systems used in the control of the air quality to be used by the center (e.g., needed air exchange rates and additional HEPA filtration systems, etc.). Similarly, it will advise on the disposal of liquid and solid waste. Qualifications Graduate from the faculty of environmental engineering or equivalent faculties. At least 7 (seven) years of proven experience in environmental impact assessment studies in accordance with the relevant Turkish Legislation and the standards of international financial institutions (WB, IFC, EBRD, etc.). In the last 5 years, it must have carried out at least 2 (two) environmental impact assessment studies for infrastructure/construction projects according to the standards of international financial institutions (WB, IFC, EBRD, etc.). Diplomas of technical personnel and documents showing similar work experience shall be submitted to the Administration at the proposal stage.
