Electrical Services – Framework Agreement: Design And Construction Of Control Cabinets And Plc Software Development For Systems On The W7-X. The Max Planck Institute For Plasma Physics Is Located In Greifswald And Is Investigating The Suitability Of The Stellarator For A Future Power Plant Based On Nuclear Fusion. The Superconducting Stellarator Wendelstein 7-X (W7-X) Can Generate Plasma Discharges Lasting Up To 30 Minutes At Full Heating Power. Short Pulses With Variable Length, Stationary Long-Term Discharges And Optional Sequences Of Short Phases In A Discharge Are Supported By The Control System. The W7-X Control And Data Acquisition System Is A Hierarchically Structured System With A Central Control At The Top Of The Hierarchy And A Large Number Of Components/Systems. These Systems Are Technical Systems For Preparing And Carrying Out The Operation Of The W7-X Or Diagnostics For Recording Physical And Technical State Variables Of The Plasma And The Experiment Setup. Each Technical And Diagnostic System, Including Data Acquisition, Has Its Own Control System, Which Enables Autonomous Operation For Assembly And Testing. During The Experiment Phases, The Activities Of These Systems Are Coordinated By A Central Control System And The Machine Largely Works With Predefined Experiment Programs. W7-X Is Prepared And Monitored For The Experimental Phase Through Operational Management Based On The Use Of Programmable Logic Controllers (Plcs). A Safety System, Operating Independently Of Operational Management, Consists Of Local Units Responsible For The Safety Of The Plant And A Central Unit That Ensures The Safety Of The Entire Machine. The Safety System Provides Release Signals And Controls Personnel Access To The Machine. The Safety System Of The Central Control Is Based On A Redundant S7-400Fh Safety Plc From Siemens. A Security Analysis Is The Basis For The Development Of The Security System. The Safety Systems Of Local Systems Use Either Simple Interconnections Of Safety Relays Or Programmable Safety Controls From Pilz (Pnoz Multi) Or Siemens Safety Plcs. In Accordance With The Requirements For The Upcoming W7-X Operating Phase Op2, A Large Number Of New Control And Data Acquisition Components Must Be Planned, Constructed And Put Into Operation Or Modifications And Extensions Must Be Carried Out On Existing System Algae.
