The objectives of the Preservation and Promotion of Cultural Heritage Project are to support the conservation, safekeeping and promotion of cultural heritage assets in Leningrad, Pskov, Novgorod and Tver oblasts of the Russian Federation and to strengthen regional capacity for cultural heritage management so it supports the socio-economic development of the participating oblasts. The project has three components. Component one consists of integrated heritage site development and includes two sub-components: (a) rehabilitation and improvement of cultural heritage sites and institutions and (b) capacity building for integrated site development. Component two comprises of protection of museum assets, designed to protect and promote Russia s moveable heritage assets and consists of two sub-components: (a) improvement of collection management, conservation, and storage and (b) development and testing of museum security practices. Component Three consists of project management, monitoring, and evaluation. |
