The objective of the Metro Manila Wastewater Management Project for the Philippines is to improve wastewater services in selected sub-catchments of Metro Manila and surrounding areas. The project has two components. (1) Investments in wastewater services by Manila Water Company, Incorporated (MWCI). This component consists of technical assistance and investments by MWCI in wastewater collection and treatment in the east zone. Goods, works, non-consulting services, and consultant services can be supported under this component. The component comprises the two elements: (a) construction of a sewage treatment plant and associated sewage lines covering North and South Pasig; and (b) carrying out of other wastewater management investment sub-projects agreed upon among the Guarantor (the Government of the Philippines), the Borrower (LBP), the Bank and MWCI. (2) Investments in wastewater services by Maynilad. This component consists of technical assistance and investments by Maynilad in wastewater collection and treatment, and septage management in the west zone. Goods, works, nonconsulting services, and consultant services can be supported under this component. |
