Project No. SMEWG_202_2024A Project Title Capacity Building Programmes on Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) for MSMEs in the APEC Economies Project Status Project in Implementation This project complements, rather than duplicates, the CTI_207_2023A—Improving Supply Chain Transparency with Digital Exchange of Traceability and ESG Credentials to Facilitate APEC Trade Flows project, which focuses on digital traceability and ESG data exchange in supply chains. While CTI_207_2023A project develops digital mechanisms to verify ESG compliance, this project builds foundational ESG awareness among MSMEs, addressing key challenges like lack of skills and funding. By conducting a three-day workshop, it equips MSMEs with practical ESG adoption strategies, ensuring they are better prepared to engage with digital traceability systems in future initiatives. Without this foundational knowledge, many MSMEs may struggle to participate effectively in APEC’s digital ESG frameworks. This project enhances supply chain inclusivity by helping smaller businesses align with sustainability standards before integrating into global trade systems. It bridges the ESG knowledge gap, strengthens stakeholder engagement, and supports broader adoption of APEC’s sustainable trade goals, making CTI_207_2023A more accessible and impactful. |
