The proposed project enables key capabilities and features required to strengthen and modernize the distribution network in Nepal. The project focuses on infrastructure upgradation, operational improvement, and demand enhancement. After years of chronic load shedding, Nepal now finds itself in the position of surplus electricity supply. However, due to constraints in the transmission and distribution networks, not all the new supply is being absorbed. Furthermore, in order enhance the quality and reliability of electricity supply and support electricity consumption, netwrok strengthing is required. The Project Development Objective is to improve the reliability of electricity supply to consumers in selected areas of Nepal. |
