Project No. SMEWG_01_2025S Project Title Conference on Digital Transformation among APEC SMEs Project Status Project in Implementation This project implements the 2024 APEC Leaders’ Machu Picchu Declaration: “We recognize that digital transformation and innovation can be key drivers of economic growth, and positively contribute to inclusion as they foster reducing the digital divides, including the gender digital divide, enabling MSMEs to become more competitive, specialized and innovative to support their integration into global value chains.” This conference will explore the current status, policies, and best practices for the adoption of digital technologies by SMEs in the APEC region. It will bring together government officials, experts, scholars, leading digital service providers, and SME representatives to address shared digital and technological needs, share experiences, and discuss initiatives to empower women entrepreneurs and other groups. Participants will provide concrete and actionable recommendations. The conference, set for April 2025 in Beijing, China, will highlight APEC economies’ efforts to unlock SMEs’ digital potential and foster an enabling environment for their continued growth. |
