German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology (GMIT) IV Measured against international standards, the quality of teaching and research programmes at Mongolian universities could be improved, especially when it comes to their practical relevance and alignment with the needs of the economy. In addition, it is important to ensure that all social groups have equal access to degree courses. The German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology (GMIT) is a unique project that pilots the use of practice-based teaching and research methods in engineering that meet international standards. It is designed to act as a model institute in the national higher education system, sharing its experience of effective approaches in a range of areas, for example quality assurance, internationality, research funding and administrative work. The aim is to provide orientation for other Mongolian universities. Objective GMIT trains qualified experts in selected engineering degree programmes. |
