The project development objective is to increase the efficiency and resilience of trade and transport along selected corridors in Bhutan. Under Component 1 (Digital Systems for Trade), the project will support (i) the implementation of the National Single Window; (ii) strengthening digital enablers; (iii) enhancing cybersecurity; and (iv) improving digital connectivity and data resilience. Under Component 2 (Green and Resilient Infrastructure), the project will support (i) improving road connectivity including supporting road construction of Gelephu-Tareythang Road, a missing link on Southern East-West Highway, implementation of the biodiversity management plan, preparation of feasibility studies, and upgrading of the Road Asset Management System (RAMS), piloting of PBC, and road safety; and (ii) improving multimodal connectivity. Under Component 3 (Institutional and Policy Strengthening), the project will provide (i) support to project implementing agencies, (ii) support for technical capacity building; (iii) policy/regulatory support; and (iv) infrastructure planning.
