Vermiculture and organic waste treatment: An agroecological innovation strategy to improve food production and promote food security, in the Milagro Community, Carlos Arvelo Municipality, Carabobo State |
| Project Detail |
The purpose of this initiative is to organize the community of Milagro, a rural sector located in the Carlos Arvelo Municipality of Carabobo state, to strengthen its capacities and the joint implementation of an agroecological solution consisting of the production of Californian red worm humus (Eisenia foetida) in family productive yards, from the proper management and recycling of organic waste that currently does not have adequate treatment in said community, in order to convert it into natural compost. This will enhance soil recovery, improve crop yields in the sector, improve food production such as vegetables and mitigate climate change, in turn generating a sustainable livelihood for the inhabitants of the community. The strategy to be implemented would promote soil fertility, favorably impacting food security. Project Number:VEN/SGP/OP7/Y4/STAR/CC/2023/09 |
