The project aims at sustainable management and making use of 781 ha of Community Fisheries areas and conserving 2 ha of Fisheries conservation areas, planting 500 flooded trees inside the Community Fisheries (CFi) area which contribute to conserving fisheries resources, mother fishes, and biodiversity. The project also builds the capacity of Community Fisheries committee members and CFi members, especially women and youth to participate in the protection and conservation of natural resources. In order to build adaptive capacity of Cfi members, the project provides training on resilient vegetable growing and supports 20 families to apply knowledge and skill they have learnt to increase vegetable production. In addition to that project also establish a saver group with 40 members (30 members are women) and build group capacity in running and management of the saving group. The project also conducts 2 VRA workshops to raise awareness of climate change impacts and identify appropriateproject interventions and rate the level of vulnerability to climate change impacts. Documentation of lessons learned, and success stories are also part of this project. |
