The project aims to support leasing and financing of zero-emission trucks and busses in several EU Member States such as Germany (for the main part), Belgium, France, the Netherlands and Spain. Objectives The aim is to finance zero-emission battery-electric trucks and busses to support the transformation to sustainable mobility. The market for battery-electric trucks is at an early stage of development with high upfront costs. By financing leasing companies, the EIB plays a significant role in support of EV deployment on the EU market, hence also supports scale up of the production of electric trucks while reducing the costs. The project contributes (100%share) to Climate Action and Environmental Sustainability and is thus eligible under Article 309 point (c) common interest. It also contributes to the EIBs Transport Lending Policy and Climate Bank Roadmap, as well as sustainable and decarbonised road transport, thereby also supporting EU policy objectives.
