| Project Name | US 6 & 20 Road Intersection Improvements |
| Project Detail | Widening and partial reconstruction of the intersection of US Highway 6 and 20 Road near Fruita. The existing intersection is offset, and the new intersection will realign the northbound approach of 20 Rd. to US 6 to align with the southbound approach. The intersection will be signalized with dedicated turn lanes. Other elements of the project include the reconstruction of a portion or River Rd. at the tie in to the intersection. The alignment and high speeds create difficulties for left-turning vehicles. Project Benefits Realign 20 Road to remove the offset alignment and upgrade the railroad gates and signal at this location This intersection has historically had high motor vehicle crash data The project is a safety improvement with the addition of a signalized intersection and the roadway realignment |
