Project Number:KHM/SGP/OP7/Y4/CORE/IW/2023/06 The project aims to support the Chhroy Svay Coastal Zone Community Fisheries Committee to sustainable use and manage 13,443 ha of fisheries domain by conducting training and awareness meetings on fisheries Law and Community Fisheries Regulations, participating the local, provincial, and national fisheries network meetings. In addition to that the project will produce and place 10 cement poles (20 cm x 20 cm x 2.5m high) for demarcation of Community Fisheries areas and conduct regular CFi patrolling activities. To increase natural fish stock, the project will build tree nursery (12m x 7m) for producing 10,000 small mangrove seeds and plan 10,000 small mangrove trees in degraded areas, produce 45 artificial shelters (1mx1mx1mx1m) to put in the Fisheries conservation side and digging a pond (30m x 4m x 2m) for fish and crab culture. To Support the CSCZCFi committee to earn income for conserving 13,442 ha of CFi, the project will build basic infrastructure for eco-tourism development suchas building bridge across the small stream (19 m x 1.5m x 6m high), a 100m of wooden bridge inside mangrove forest, a restaurant (6m x 12m), a 5 rooms toilet (6mx 2 m), building 7 leisure huts (3.5m x 3.5m), prepare land for car park (252 square meters) and purchase 5 kayak boats. Connection of electricity network and water pine system to eco-tourism center will be supported. Documentation of lessons learned, and good practices is also part of this project. |
