Project Name Marketing of ancestral cocoa; economic circuit based on agroecological production
Project Detail Project Number:MEX/SGP/OP7/Y2/STAR/BD/2023/107 The projects central objective is to improve the living conditions of cocoa farmers by strengthening their technical capacities for the cultivation, management, care, harvesting, and sale of cocoa. This will benefit their economic conditions and, consequently, their way of life. This will be achieved through the development of agroecological practices for the conservation, restoration, and improvement of cocoa farming practices, as well as through theoretical and practical training on how to carry out cocoa plot activities. The project will also seek to improve post-harvest processes focused on the fermentation and drying of the beans, which helps enhance their organoleptic qualities and is more attractive to high-quality markets. It will also seek to develop a new market that can recognize the pre- and post-harvest processes of cocoa.
