The Project aims to strengthen electoral systems and processes in Ethiopia that promote inclusion, gender equality, transparency and accountability through an effective and sustainable electoral management body and other electoral stakeholders. Project beneficiaries include: NEBE staff; entities that partner with NEBE; other national bodies with electoral or associated functions, including potentially the judiciary, Ethiopia Human Rights Commission, National ID Office, Central Statistics Agency, personnel of security forces and media regulatory bodies; national non-governmental entities including civil society organizations, community based organizations, women’s groups, youth groups, professional associations, academic institutions, and individual community leaders; media outlets, journalists, press councils, media associations; parliamentary committees; members of the Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission; election candidates and voters especially including women, youth, internally displaced persons, persons with disabilities, persons from minority groups. Considering current donor contributions, ADA’s contribution will benefit approximately 9.5 million people. UNDP is the lead entity in executing this project. NEBE is the primary national partner in implementation of the project. Additionally, the project, in consultation with NEBE, may partner with other national statutory bodies and non-governmental entities, including CSOs, engaged in activities relevant to elections. |
