To improve generate multiple global environmental and socioeconomic benefits through restoration of degraded ecosystems, conservation, and improved management of agricultural land and forests in the east African water-towers of Angolas extended central plateau. · 145,000 ha of National Park under improved management (GEF Ind 1.2) · 11,200 ha of land and ecosystems under restoration (GEF Ind 3) · 8,500 ha of productive land under improved practices (GEF Ind 4) · 3,281,939 tCO2-e of direct carbon sequestered, or emissions avoided in the sector of Agriculture, Forestry, and Other Land Use (GEF Ind 6.1). · Directly impact 12,707 people, (6585 of whom are women and 6122 are men). Due to the scaling up strategy, indirect beneficiaries are anticipated to be tenfold. Improved monitoring for NDC under UNCCD and UNCBD, improved management will occur in both the Okavango and Zambezi River basins in partial fulfilment of objectives under OKACOM and ZAMCOM. |
