| Project Detail | This project proposes to repair or replace sections of the existing sound barrier system on the Interstate 495 (Long Island Expressway) from Exit 49 (NY110 - Broadhollow Road) to Exit 57 (NY454 - Veterans Memorial Highway) in the Towns of Huntington, Smithtown, and Islip, Suffolk County. The sound barrier will aid in keeping neighborhoods protected from the noise generated by highway traffic. The barrier repairs will include stress treated wood planks with steel columns as posts. |
