Project Detail |
December 2024 - As a result of the ongoing conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and Rapid Support Forces, Sudan is facing a complex and unprecedented humanitarian crisis. It is characterized by massive protection violations, the displacement of over 11 million people and dire levels of acute food insecurity and malnutrition in many parts of the country. With GAC’s support, Canadian Foodgrains Bank aims to meet the immediate food needs of conflict-affected communities in Al Jazirah, North Kordofan, South Darfur and White Nile through the provision of gender-responsive humanitarian food assistance. Project activities include: (1) distributing of in-kind food and vouchers to vulnerable households; (2) forming gender-equitable community advisory committees to inform project implementation; and (3) conducting safety audits for project activities, including safety risks for women, girls and marginalized groups. |
