Project No. SMEWG_204_2024A Project Title Study about the use of agro-industrial waste from the circular economy in the textile sector Project Status Project in Implementation Although there have been few studies related to the use of agro-industrial waste in the textile sector, there is a lack of systematization of these initiatives, obstructing APEC MSMEs of the textile sector to insert in the circular economy. The study about the use of agro-industrial waste from the circular economy in the textile sector is planned to systematize previous researchs and methods of non-toxic dyeing from agro-industrial waste providing a natural and reliable option, resulting in the identification of best practices to be applied in the production process in the framework of circular economy, as well as giving recommendations of strategies and policies for the private and public sector applicable in other economies. The project will finalize with a conference sharing the result of the study. In this way, it’s important to mention that in the textile industry, most companies are MSMEs. The project will be implemented for 6 months starting early 2025 in Lima, Perú, and will include participation of APEC economies experts in this topic. |
