| Project Detail | Dealing with the past and peacebuilding in Northern Iraq Massive violence has led to trauma and mistrust among all population groups in Iraq: The self-styled Islamic State (IS) has murdered thousands of members of religious minorities and enslaved Yazidi women. In addition, more than three million people had to flee. Even after the defeat of IS, many displaced people are still unable to return home for security reasons. Survivors and families of missing persons are also waiting for compensation for the crimes committed against them by IS. Objective The situation of survivors and victims of crimes committed by IS in Northern Iraq and peaceful coexistence in Iraq have improved. |
