Project Detail |
Joint project between IICA and CNP to develop fairer mechanisms for setting prices for products marketed through the Institutional Supply Program (PAI). General Objective: Establish a fair and transparent reference price system methodology for marketed agricultural products of the Institutional Supply Program (PAI) in order to guarantee adequate compensation for primary products, promote equity in commercial transactions and contribute to the sustainable development of rural communities. Specific Objectives: To establish the baseline of production costs, market conditions, as well as the purchasing, sales, distribution and marketing networks and their respective costs for a sample of agricultural products marketed in the PAI, in order to determine a reference price that reflects the real value of the products. Develop a methodology (econometric models) for the periodic updating of reference prices and decision-making, taking into account other factors such as climate risks, economic risks, financial risks, among others. Develop human capacities for the establishment and implementation of the methodology for the periodic updating of reference prices and decision-making. |
