Project Detail |
Vietnams economic growth has accelerated urbanization and industrialization, and water consumption is increasing. However, the sewerage system is not fully developed, and large amounts of sewage and industrial wastewater are discharged into rivers untreated or with only simple treatment. Advanced water purification is required to fully remove pollutants from river water, which is the source of drinking water. However, conventional treatment methods such as ozone and biological activated carbon have high initial and operating costs. Technological innovation is required to reduce overall costs, such as limiting the equipment used for treatment and reducing power consumption.
This project establishes and develops nanofiltration membrane treatment technology that does not require pretreatment and can reduce power consumption, and online water quality measurement technology that constantly monitors the safety of water, conducts demonstration tests in Vietnam, and builds a foundation for business expansion. This will develop an advanced water purification system that is lower cost than conventional advanced water purification methods.
