Project Detail |
With economic growth in the Philippines, the purchasing power of the middle class has increased, especially in urban areas, and the food sales and food industry through supermarkets and other outlets is growing. However, each stage of the production site and distribution system in the Philippine food value chain (FVC) has various issues, and has not led to an increase in farmers income through value-added improvement. This project will formulate a roadmap for strengthening the horticultural value chain, mainly vegetables, and conduct pilot activities in target areas, promote private sector participation by building a platform for FVC stakeholders, and disseminate and expand the inclusive FVC model beyond the pilot areas. Through these activities, we aim to strengthen FVC of horticultural crops, mainly vegetables. |
