Project Detail |
Nepal are facing risks from future seismic events. In the country, building standards related to earthquake resistance will be revised in August 2020, and regulations for new buildings are being tightened. However, the lack of knowledge and awareness of legal compliance among builders and contractors often leads to construction that differs from the drawings, and the governments design and construction inspection capabilities, the construction supervision capabilities of architectural engineers, and the awareness of the construction management capabilities of contractors and other related personnel have become challenges, The issues include the governments design and construction inspection capabilities, the construction supervision capabilities of building engineers, the quality control capabilities of contractors, and the awareness of all parties involved. This cooperation aims to improve the mechanism of building code compliance for earthquake-resistant buildings in the Kathmandu Basin by revising building permit practice manuals and improving the capacity and awareness of relevant personnel to comply with building codes, thereby contributing to the promotion of the construction of earthquake-resistant and safe buildings. |
