Project Detail |
In Sri Lanka, 78.3% of the total population lives in rural areas and 81% of them are poor. Poverty Reduction From the perspective of correcting regional disparities and stabilizing the local economy, increasing agricultural productivity and improving farmers livelihoods remain important issues. This project aims to improve the livelihoods of the target farmers by supporting the strengthening of supply chains for small- and medium-scale farmers in the suitable horticultural crop areas in rural areas, utilizing the market-oriented agricultural promotion (SHEP) approach. This will lead to a broad strengthening of supply chains in the project area, and will improve the livelihoods of more small- and medium-scale farmers. |
