Tajikistan Project Notice - Project For The Development Of Decarbonized Heat Energy Supply System Using Ground Heat Source

Project Notice

PNR 67696
Project Name Project for the Development of Decarbonized Heat Energy Supply System using Ground Heat Source
Project Detail In Tajikistan, where temperatures vary widely and the country is not blessed with oil or natural gas, the supply of heat energy, energy saving effects, and reduction of CO2 emissions are expected by focusing on its abundant underground Sustainable Water Resources Management and using the groundwater and ground that has a constant temperature throughout the year as a heat source. This project will train CIDSNT staff in the development of geothermal heat pump (GSHP) systems in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, install and operate a demonstration plant, and design an institutional framework for the introduction of GSHP systems. The project aims to establish a Tajikistan model for the diffusion of GSHPs, thereby contributing to the practical application and diffusion of GSHPs that contribute to the decarbonization of the country. [Overall Goal] The GSHP will be commercialized and deployed in Tajikistan to contribute to the decarbonization of the arid region. [Project Purpose] A Tajikistan model for the diffusion of geothermal heat pumps for arid regions will be established. [Outcome. Output 1: Capacity of CIDSNT counterparts to develop GSHP potential maps and GSHP systems will be developed. Output 2: A demonstration plant will be in operation on a long-term basis. Output 3: Institutional design for the introduction of the GSHP system will be completed.
