Project No. SMEWG_201_2024A Project Title APEC Workshop on promoting women-led MSMEs in adopting circular agriculture Project Status Project in Implementation In response to the Bangkok Goals on Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy, the Putrajaya Vision 2040 and the Aotearoa Plan of Action (APA) as well as the La Serena Roadmap for Women and Inclusive Growth (2019 – 2030) that pursue sustainable and inclusive growth and development in the APEC region, Viet Nam would like to propose a 2-day workshop to empower women MSMEs in adopting circular agriculture. Women account a majority in workforce in agriculture in many developing and low-income economies as well as the increasing importance and necessity of transition to a more sustainable agriculture to address climate change and environmental threats. The project, therefore, will focus on identifying and addressing challenges that impede women and women MSMEs in particular in adopting circular agriculture such as accessing productive resources and services, technology, market information, financial assets, etc. The project is expected to provide capacity building for member economies in promoting and enabling favorable environment to empower women MSMEs to adopt circular agriculture. The workshop is expected to be held in the 2nd quarter of 2025 in Viet Nam. |
