Project Name Legal and Judicial Development Project Phase 6
Project Detail In Cambodia, many laws were repealed and intellectuals, including legal professionals, were massacred during the civil war that lasted for more than 20 years until the 1990s. Under these circumstances, JICA has been drafting and disseminating civil law and supporting the development of legal professionals to administer civil law for more than 20 years. This project will strengthen the system for effective Education of the Royal Academy of Judges and Prosecutors (RAJC) in the target region by improving the capacity of instructors, systematically accumulating knowledge, Education researching and improving methods, including the preparation of effective curricula and teaching materials in the field of civil law at the Education judges training schools. The RAJC will also improve the capacity of judges and other judicial personnel in the country to interpret and apply civil law through the following measures (1) Overall Goal Improve the ability of judges and other judicial officials to interpret and apply civil law. (2) Project Purpose The system to effectively Education improve the capacity of interpretation and application of civil law for judges and other judicial personnel in the RAJP will be strengthened. (3) Output Output 1 Curriculum will be developed and revised (developed, etc.) to be effective in improving the ability of judges Education to interpret and apply civil law. Output 2 Effective teaching materials will be developed at Education to improve the ability of judges to interpret and apply civil law. Output 3 The instructors of the RAJP (full-time instructors, adjunct instructors, and instructor candidates) will develop effective curricula and teaching materials. The participation of RAJP instructors (full-time instructors, adjunct instructors, and instructor candidates) in the development of effective curricula and teaching materials will improve their Education abilities (including the ability to interpret and apply civil law), and the knowledge gained in this process will be accumulated and shared systematically. Output 4 Effective Education methods for improving the ability of judges and other judicial personnel to interpret and apply civil law will be studied and practiced. Output 5 Participation of instructors in the research and practice of effective Education methods improves their Education abilities (including the ability to interpret and apply civil law), and the knowledge gained in the process is systematically accumulated and shared.
