Project Detail |
In Cambodia, agriculture accounts for 22.8% of GDP and 35% of the working population is engaged in agriculture (World Bank, 2022), making agriculture a major means of livelihood in rural areas. However, most of the existing irrigation facilities were constructed between 1975 and 1978, and many of them are not functioning well due to design and construction problems and aging, making the restoration and improvement of irrigation facilities an urgent issue.
This project aims to improve agricultural productivity in the target areas by rehabilitating and improving irrigation and drainage facilities in rural poor areas in southwestern Phnom Penh.
