In Cambodia, the development of railroads has lagged behind, and road transport plays a central role in domestic transportation. National Highway No. 5, which connects the capital Phnom Penh to the Thai border, is one of the countrys key roads and part of the Southern Economic Corridor, and although emergency repairs have been made to date, there is a need to increase transport capacity and improve transport efficiency to accommodate the increase in domestic and international distribution that will accompany the countrys economic development. However, the project is required to increase transport capacity and improve transport efficiency to accommodate the increase in domestic and international logistics in line with the countrys economic development. This project will rehabilitate and widen the existing road between Prek Kudam and Sreeramaam on National Highway No. 5, and construct a bypass. The project aims to increase transport capacity and improve transport efficiency in the target area, thereby promoting economic development in Cambodia. (1) Purpose of the Project This project aims to increase transport capacity and improve transport efficiency in the target area by rehabilitating and widening the existing road between Prek Kdam and Sreama Am on National Highway No. 5, which connects Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, to the Thai border, and by building a bypass, thereby contributing to the promotion of Cambodias economic development.
