Project Detail |
In Central Asia, where drylands are widespread, improving the efficiency of water use, diversifying agricultural production, and countermeasures against salt damage are issues. The government of Uzbekistan is aiming to build optimal Climate Change responsive agriculture, especially in the Autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan and the upper Kashkadarya region, a tributary of the Amu Darya River, which are particularly affected by drought and salt damage. This project aims to develop sustainable agricultural business models and improve dissemination capacity by collecting and providing meteorological and hydrological information, developing internal circulation-type halogenetic agricultural technology, and building a research Education base in the target area. Through this, we aim to improve the resilience of small-scale farmers on marginal lands. |
