Project Detail The Autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan (Karakalpakstan), located in northwestern Uzbekistan, is a region where development has been delayed due to environmental and regional economic deterioration caused by the shrinking of the Aral Sea due to excessive irrigation for cotton. In Karakalpakstan, health effects due to contaminated water, soil, and air around the Aral Sea have also been observed, and cases of congenital diseases are increasing. Among non-communicable diseases, the incidence of respiratory diseases and renal dysfunction is higher than the national average, and maternal and child health and mortality from infectious diseases remain high. At the same time, inadequate medical equipment, poor access to medical facilities, inexperienced physicians, and poor quality of emergency medical care are problems, and improving the quality of medical services is an urgent issue. This project aims to improve the quality of medical services and medicine Education in Karakalpakstan by providing advanced medical equipment to Karakalpakstan Medical University Hospital, which will serve as a base for providing medical services and training personnel in Karakalpakstan, and thereby improve the health status of residents in the region. (1) Project Objective: This project aims to improve the quality of medical services and medicine Education in Karakalpakstan by providing advanced medical equipment to Karakalpakstan Medical University Hospital, which will serve as a base for providing medical services and developing human resources in Karakalpakstan, thereby contributing to improving the health of the regions residents. (2) Project Contents (a) Details of facilities, equipment, etc: (Equipment for treatment and diagnosis) CT (1 unit), examination vehicle (1 unit), examination equipment (2 units), endoscope sets (4 sets), plasma sterilizer (1 unit), cleaning sterilizer set (1 unit), ventilator (18 units), etc. (Equipment for Education) Surgical simulators (2), endoscope simulators (2), patient simulators (6), etc. *Maintenance contracts for up to 3 years will be attached to medical equipment with high maintenance importance. (b) Consulting Services/Software Component Description: Detailed design, bidding assistance, procurement supervision, and training (including budget planning) for maintenance of procured equipment.
