Project Detail |
In Indonesia, the disparity between incomes and regions has been widening along with economic growth, and the development of public infrastructure and the promotion of local industries and job creation in the rural periphery are issues to be addressed in order to build a safe society. In particular, the economies of remote islands with rich fishing grounds are dependent on the Fisheries industry, but the potential for fisheries development through infrastructure improvement, etc. is high, and from the perspective of maritime security, the development and promotion of remote islands near the border is a top-priority development issue. In addition to the development of Fisheries facilities on 13 remote islands near the border, the countrys Ministry of Oceans Fisheries is planning to establish a comprehensive marine Fisheries center (SKPT) to add value to Fisheries products and to distribute them outside the islands in order to revitalize the remote islands economies. This cooperation will contribute to the promotion of sustainable Fisheries businesses in remote islands by developing human resources and SKPT operation and management plans for the revitalization of Fisheries businesses in remote islands by improving the skills of SKPT users and managers on the six remote islands where SKPTs are located, which will be developed under the Grants" Fisheries Sector Development Plan for Remote Islands". The project contributes to the promotion of sustainable business on remote islands. |
