Project Title
Advancing Supply Chain Resilience in APEC Economies Through 5G Smart Manufacturing
Project Status
Project in Implementation
According to Rockwell Automation 2023 market research in 8th annual State of Smart Manufacturing Report, over 45% of manufacturers in the Asia-Pacific region faced challenges due to a lack of innovation, skilled workforce, and advanced technology.
With 44% looking to switch to smart manufacturing within a year, this project explores how 5G can facilitate this transition.
5G technology offers high speed, low latency, and improved reliability and security for industrial networks, overcoming Wi-Fi vulnerabilities and Ethernet limitations. By integrating 5G with factory systems, we may see a 15%-20% increase in production and inspection efficiency, strengthening supply chain resilience.
This project aims to discover innovative 5G applications for interoperability between manufacturing applications and 5G systems, fostering efficiency and resiliency.
This initiative includes a seminar with public-private sectors and researchers, focusing on practical 5G solutions such as human sensing and energy efficiency. It seeks to enhance supply chain resilience in APEC economies, encouraging innovation and adaptation to 5G smart manufacturing services. |
