Project Name Southeast Asia Resilient and Water Secure Cities Facility Project Number 58284-001 Country / Economy Regional Cambodia Indonesia Lao Peoples Democratic Republic Philippines Thailand Timor-Leste Viet Nam Project Status Proposed The technical assistance will serve as an end-to-end, climate-focused project development, implementation support and innovation facility for water and urban development sector support to Southeast Asian developing member countries (DMCs). The facility will support the following activities: (i) upstream sector diagnostics leading to pipeline of climate-focused, low-carbon urban and water sector investments suitable for sovereign, non-sovereign and blended financing, (ii) project design for sovereign projects, ensuring ADBs value added through the adoption of innovative approaches such as nature-based solutions, digitization, last-mile connectivity to under-served areas, gender inclusion, and contracting modalities to strengthen engagement with private sector operators e.g. performance-based non-revenue water management contracts; (iii) institutional reforms and capacity development to ensure the right enabling environment, and (iv) follow-on support for ADB-financed projects to ensure sustainable operations and maintenance arrangements are in place. |
