HOPE Workshop 2025 aims to empower youth policy officers and leading members of grassroots organisation in their capacities as drivers for effective community-based disaster risk management (CBDRM). This rigorous three-day workshop will equip these future leaders with necessary knowledge and skills to advocate for, and engage in DRM practices within their communities. Alongside expert speakers and facilitators, participants will delve into critical topics including disaster hazards and risks, vulnerabilities and capacities, community resilience, and sustainable community development. Participants will engage in interactive sessions that emphasise hands-on learning and exchange of ideas regarding policy frameworks for DRM, sustainable CBDRM approaches, emergency response planning, and exploring technology for CBDRM, among others. By incorporating discussions and networking opportunities among workshop participants and experts, attendees will not only gain deeper understanding of CBDRM but also confidence in their capabilities to lead and implement impactful initiatives in their respective economies. The workshop also aims to instill a sense of conscientiousness among the youth representatives to encourage them to be proactive agents of change capable of shaping the future of disaster risk management in their respective economies. |
