This project emphasizes the urgency to low-carbon transition for sustainability through accelerated energy transition and circular economy. The low-carbon transition agendas of economies are expected to continue driving green hydrogen (GH). However, there is still uncertainty around GH uptake, its future role and what it would take to set up GH ecosystem. This warrants the need for strategic deliberation for future ready clean energy. This project aims to further enhance capability building of APEC economies in accelerating technological advancements and policy enforcement by addressing hydrogen sources, production technologies, economic viability of related production costs, safety protocols for hydrogen transportation and storage, and market assessment for hydrogen energy applications. Such objectives shall be delivered through research and 3-days seminar. The seminar shall involve industry, academia and policymakers for capacity building and advocacy. This project includes cross-fora collaboration with Energy WG and HRDWG in intensifying inclusive human resource development through economic and technical cooperation. |
