The general objective of the TC is to improve Surinames water and wastewater sector by enhancing governance, environmental sustainability, and resilience to climate risks. The specific objectives are to: (i) strengthen governance and legislative frameworks for the water and wastewater sectors by addressing fragmented governance, modernizing outdated laws, and promoting environmental sustainability, climate resilience, and cost recovery mechanisms; and (ii) enhance decision-making on resilient and sustainable stormwater and wastewater management in Paramaribo by identifying infrastructure needs and developing climate-resilient solutions. |
