The Education 2026 program aims to strengthen the teaching of French in middle school and to combat school dropout. The main expected impacts are the improvement of the level of French among teachers and students, the reduction of the school dropout rate and the promotion of extracurricular activities in middle school.
The Program supports the implementation of the 2022-2026 Roadmap.
It aims to achieve three ambitious strategic objectives:
- Guarantee the quality of learning. Objective 2026: double the rate of primary school students mastering the fundamentals;
- Make compulsory schooling effective. Objective 2026: reduce school dropout by a third;
- Promote personal development and civic-mindedness. Objective 2026: double the rate of students benefiting from extracurricular activities.
To achieve this, it targets two specific objectives:
- Strengthen the quality of learning by strengthening teaching of and in French in middle school: revision of the
curriculum, linguistic reinforcement of teachers, plan to reinforce French among students;
- Combating school dropout in middle schools (via support for the deployment of the new pioneer middle school model): combating school dropout, academic support, school canteens and boarding schools, school transport, extracurricular activities |
