Efficient visual monitoring for outdoor-space structures
Bridges and civil infrastructure are essential to logistics, transport, and trade, making their maintenance, inspection, and monitoring vital to ensuring safety and preventing interruptions in key sectors. Unfortunately, much of the trans-European transport network was built in the 1950s and requires improved maintenance and monitoring. The EU-funded ARTEMIDE project aims to address this by focusing on visual inspection techniques. The project will develop two fundamental methods and an approach for full-field identification of fatigue damage on outdoor structures. These methods will utilise infrared imaging, image conditioning, and thermal measurements to efficiently and quickly assess damage and conditions. |
