Unravelling the dynamics of monitored quantum systems
Monitored quantum systems exhibit intriguing dynamics owing to the interplay between monitoring (measuring) and natural system (unitary) changes. This competition can lead to phase transitions, seen when entangled parts of the system form or how quickly a mixed state becomes pure. Funded by the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions programme, the DREAMS project aims to unravel the complex behaviours of these systems. Using a replica approach, researchers will frame system evolution through linear equations. DREAMS will focus on analysing fully connected models for exact solutions, studying finite-range interacting systems to validate predictions and reinterpreting findings within existing theoretical frameworks. The research holds significant implications for quantum information technologies, including error correction and quantum control. |
