This cooperation between the Economic Development Board (EDB) and Business France aims to provide technical support to the structure in order to strengthen the coordination of business support and encourage trade (French and Mauritian imports and investments).
CONTEXT
The Economic Development Board (EDB) - a public agency for the promotion of exports and investments of the Republic of Mauritius, under the supervision of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Development of Mauritius - has requested the assistance of Business France to support it in its development with the aim of strengthening its organization and efficiency.
A diagnostic mission was conducted by Business France. The draft cooperation program was developed on the basis of the conclusions of this diagnosis with the objective of supporting the EDB in a structuring that allows it to effectively promote responsible economic development for Mauritius .
DESCRIPTION
The cooperation program between EDB and Business France will be structured around two objectives:
Strengthening EDBs institutional capacities and remediating residual problems arising from the merger process, by working on three axes: governance, internal organization, tools and services.
Strengthening trade (exports and cross-investment) between France and Mauritius through two axes: the establishment of an "end-to-end" support service for companies exploiting the business complementarities of EDB and Business France and my implementation of an annual program of joint actions, combining export promotion and investment in both directions. |
