Training in sustainable construction and the rational development of cities and territories is the ambition of the ICAT project, winner of the second edition of the "Africa - France Academic Partnerships" program. Led by the National University of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in Benin and by the University of Le Havre Normandy, it aims to structure a professional training course, from bachelors to doctorate.
CONTEXT
Benin has initiated a series of large-scale public policies to continue the transformation of its economy, its socio-economic development and to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They focus more particularly on the implementation of major structural changes in strategic sectors such as the living environment, infrastructure and transport, the promotion of quality education that values ??scientific and technical subjects, as well as the deployment of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
DESCRIPTION
The ICAT project aims to structure a lasting strategic partnership for higher education courses provided at the National University of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (UNSTIM) in Benin: a Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate course in construction and geomatics, professionalizing, of quality, and attractive at the national and international level. The ambition? To train technicians and experts in the field of sustainable construction and the rational development of cities and territories to better face the challenges related to the ecological transition.
This project was selected as part of the second edition of the “Africa-France Academic Partnerships” program. This program is funded by the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE) via the French Development Agency (AFD). It is implemented by the National Research Agency (ANR) and Campus France with the support of the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR). |
