Management submits these proposals and recommendations for an AfDB loan of EUR 90 million (UA 74 million) and an AFAWA grant of USD 2.5 million financed from We-Fi resources to the Republic of Tunisia to finance the Support Programme for Business Competitiveness and Empowerment of the Population through Job Creation(CAP-Emplois).The programme is the Banks first operation in Tunisia that uses results-based financing (RBF). It will help to improve people’s living conditions by developing the skills of young people and women, supporting entrepreneurship (including integration of the informal sector), and creating jobs.
Project Objectives
The development objective of the program is to contribute to improving the living conditions of the population through job creation, entrepreneurship, and skills development. It aims to promote economic and social inclusion by increasing access for young people and women to quality employment, training opportunities, and support for business creation and formalization.
Beneficiaries
Progress towards the development objectives is measured by the following indicators:(1) contribution to the creation of 76,600 direct and indirect jobs; (2) effective integration of 10,000 beneficiaries of additional training; (3) creation and financing of 13,000 businesses, 45% of which are run or owned by women; (4) increased labour productivity in VSEs benefitting from the project; and (5) formalisation of 10,000 informal units through the self-employed entrepreneur status. |
