Broadband infrastructure and services play a role in promoting private sector productivity by facilitating information exchange, process improvement, and technological innovation. It also creates new markets such as e-commerce, contributing to economic growth. Additionally, it enables various public services like healthcare, education, and administration to be provided online, enhancing efficiency and transparency within the public sector by promoting information sharing among government agencies and between the government and citizens.
This project will recognize the importance of broadband infrastructure and services for economic growth, social development, and inclusive societies and also emphasize the need for policies and strategies to promote the deployment of broadband infrastructure and services, particularly in undeveloped areas.
1. A survey across all APEC economies is conducted for an In-depth Analysis on the current status of broadband infrastructure, policies, economic environments, and social aspects by economies
2. Research cost-effective broadband technologies and trends, and study on effective policies and best practices ensuring sustainable digital connectivity
3. Study on the structuralizing of government financial support and public-private investments, including Major Internet Service Providers;
4. Propose measures for supporting the activation of profitable e-business aimed at enhancing digital accessibility within local communities and fostering their development;
