The project contributes to improving the livelihoods and protection of populations affected by the humanitarian crisis in the communes of Ouahigouya and Nouna in the Nord and Boucle du Mouhoun regions of Burkina Faso.
Expected results
Result 1: The affected population groups in the target regions are able to meet their most important needs (SGD 2.1, 2.2, 6.1, 6.2); Result 2: Access to professional medical and psychosocial counseling and treatment has improved for victims and survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) and sexual abuse and exploitation in the target regions (SDG 5.1, 5.2, 5.3 and GAP III 3.1); Result 3: The women and young adults of the affected population in the target regions have improved their economic situation (SDG 1.1, 1.2., 1.4, 5.5, 5.a and GAP III 3.3).
Target group / Beneficiaries
The project will directly benefit 18,253 people, including approximately 51% women and girls, 56% children and 3% people with disabilities, and an additional approximately 22,500 indirectly. The target groups are particularly vulnerable households or individuals (IDPs or host population), in particular women, girls, boys, children aged 6 to 23 months, young adults, the elderly and people with disabilities.
Target region: Burkina Faso, communes of Ouahigouya (Northern region, Yatenga province) and Nouna (Boucle du Mouhoun region, Kossi province)
