The overarching aim is to reduce corruption in Western Balkan (WB) jurisdictions by enhancing the capacities of governments, civil society organizations (CSOs), and the private sector (PS). Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16, the program targets the promotion of peaceful and inclusive societies, providing access to justice for all, and building effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions at all levels. It specifically contributes to achieving Target 16.5: Substantially reduce corruption and bribery in all forms in SEE.
Expected results
1) Sectoral Corruption risk assessment and sectoral Corruption proofing of legislation mechanisms introduced into the Environment and Security sectors;
2) Regional cooperation on data exchange in asset disclosure enhanced;
3) CSOs, private sector entities, and other relevant stakeholders have enhanced their capacities, expertise, and involvement in implementing United Nations Conventions Against Corruption (UNCAC) and Transnational Organized Crime (UNTOC);
4) Program stakeholders are empowered to lead and catalyse change in crime and corruption prevention.
Target group / Beneficiaries
Direct beneficiaries of the program include representatives of national ministries and anti-corruption agencies in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia. The program also involves civil society, the private sector, and partner umbrella organizations and the UNCAC Coalition. The projected number of direct beneficiaries is 500. |
