Project Detail |
The Project will deploy and operate battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and the install chargers, as well as deliver targeted financial incentives, training to prospective Owner-Drivers, and the implementation and analysis of commercial revenue streams capable of reducing the total cost of ownership gap between Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles and BEVs. Need ANC is committed to electrifying 30% of its fleet by 2028, and many of its customers have made public decarbonisation commitments and consider fleet electrification as an early pathway. Despite these commitments, and due to low margins and strong competition, end customers are reluctant to commit to contributing to the total cost of ownership (TCO) gap. Action The Project will deploy 112 BEVs (Cab Chassis’ and Truck’s) and install 112 x 22kW AC chargers for use in Last Mile Delivery (LMD) across Australia. It is expected that the Cab Chassis will be parked and recharged at drivers’ homes and the Trucks will be housed at depots. The BEVs are intended to be deployed to the ANC’s clients nationally. |
