Project Detail |
The French Development Agency (AFD) is supporting the OZANAM company in the construction of an ecological and innovative wastewater treatment plant.
CONTEXT
The existing wastewater treatment plant, built 30 years ago for the 248-unit “Chapelle” residence, has become obsolete. Alerted by the French Office for Biodiversity in June 2020 to the need for compliance, the OZANAM company decided to replace the existing installation with a more ecological system that meets current standards.
DESCRIPTION
The project involves the deconstruction of the old treatment plant and the construction of a new one using an innovative and ecological filtration process called a "filtering mass". This system will treat the effluents naturally, thus reducing olfactory, visual and noise pollution, and will require less frequent maintenance interventions.
IMPACTS
The main objectives of the project include improving wastewater treatment for the residence, significantly reducing maintenance costs thanks to new filtration technology, and contributing to maintaining biodiversity on the site. In the long term, this installation aims to provide a better living environment for residents while minimizing environmental impact. |
